My son had to be brought back from school today because none of the school teachers turned up for work! The teachers’ strike over pay is in force, whatever the govenment media may want us to believe.

The education minister, on state controlled TVM, kept saying schools will remain open. Sure, the gates are open. But the lack of timely and appropriate intervention, on the part of the responsible authorities, to the pre-announced industrial action by teachers has caused the schools to come to a grinding halt.
